Weekend Forecast
Hello, I’m Storm Team 9 Chief Meteorologist David Sawyer. A Freeze Warning is in effect Saturday 3am - 9am.
Friday night is going to be one of the coldest so far!
However, a high pressure system will dominate the weather over the region through the weekend. The center of the system will be over eastern North Carolina Friday night. It will be cold with temperatures dropping to the upper 20s to lower 30s inland and mid to upper 30s for the coastal counties.
After a frosty start Saturday morning, we will warm to a high of 64 with light wind and sunny skies.
The high pressure system will shift offshore on Saturday evening and the warming trend will continue. It will be sunny on Sunday with highs in the lower 70s!
High temperatures will reach the mid 70s on Monday.
Our next chance of showers will be Tuesday as a frontal system approaches from the west. We also are tracking Tropical Depression Ida in the western Caribbean Sea which will likely be a tropical storm into Saturday. Click here for the latest on this tropical system.
